It can be quite easy to get carried away amidst all of the excited and amidst all of the planning and preparations that come along with being the official wedding photographer of a really big wedding but regardless of how busy things may turn out to be, you still need to make sure that you are able to really plan out the bridals shoot aside from the wedding photo shoot itself. Some wedding photographers out there who are already quite skilled and have years and years of experience are gutsy enough to plan the bridal shoot and the wedding photo shoot all in the same day, which is also the wedding day.
You shouldn’t do this though especially if you are still quite new to being a wedding photographer. You don’t know how to pace yourself yet and more often than not, there is a pretty good chance that your timing will be off and that you will not be able to implement all of the shots and all of the poses that you have initially planned out.
The truth of the matter is that there really isn’t enough time during the wedding.
You will end up rushing through things and not being able to come up with compositions that are really laid out well and this is something that will really show in the photos that you are taking. Plan the bridal shoot separately. It needs a totally different day other than the wedding day if it is something that you would like to get done right. You have to remember that one of the best ways for you to really make the bride come out looking like the star and the center of the entire wedding is for you to make sure that you pay out the right amount of details and attention required for it.
Take time out of your day to talk to the bridesmaids.
Give them some kind of inspirational talk, even for just a few minutes. Although you might think that being a bridesmaid is simple enough and that it is common notion for them to make sure that they always smile and that they should always walk with their head high and with their chin up with the bouquet held at the same level as with the belly button or lower, a lot of them still miss out on this. It certainly wouldn’t hurt if you give them a reminder one way or the other.
Make sure that you attend the rehearsal no matter what.
As a wedding photographer, attending the rehearsal is something that can be really quite strategic for you because when it all comes down to it, you are getting to know the key players in the wedding from the members of the entourage to the rest of the other close friends and family members. Make them get to know you a little bit more and make them feel comfortable when it comes to seeing you around and always behind the lens of your camera. People photograph well when they are at ease.
