Use a variety of lenses so that you have some variations in the angles that you are taking in wedding photography.
You can’t afford to make your photos look monotonous as much as possible and when it all comes down to it, you should really make it a point to have a set of different camera lenses at some point or so. You should invest in different lenses because you need them for the varied pictures that you would have to take in your wedding photography shoot. You will need a wide angle lens for your group photos. You will need a telephoto lens for your portrait photos and for those close ups that you will need to take from afar as well. Most of these lenses can be quite expensive when it all comes down to it so it would be great if you could find a temporary or meantime lens to work with while you are new to your wedding photography career. A medium zoom lens is something that can really make things work for you. It is a lens that has both narrow and wide perspectives so it can actually of a little bit of what the wide angle lens and what the telephoto lens will be able to do at the end of the day.
Get the names of the key players in the wedding party.
This is something that can really work out great in wedding photography. As much as you would like to be able to get the sign off of the bride all of the time all throughout your coverage of the wedding, the truth of the matter is that you will not really be able to talk to her as much as you would like to. You have to remember that the wedding is all about the bride and the groom and more often than not, all of the parts of the wedding involve having the bride and groom in the center of all of it. You will need the support of the rest of the other key players in the wedding. You need people to step in for the bride and make the decisions for her. This is where the key players such as the maid of honor and the best man come in. you need people who knows a lot about the wedding preparation process and about the vision of the couple being wed enough to make some proxy decisions for them when they’re not available during the wedding day. Get to know these people and make it a point to really be in first name basis with them. This will make the interaction go smoother and far less awkward then when you don’t know them at all.
Take note of the fact that wedding dresses have been traditionally white for the past one hundred years.
It really looks like that is the kind of trend that will keep in going for more years to come. You may just see something that has a lot of white but the camera sees a bright spot that can potentially be harmful for the photo being taken so it will try to subdue it and it makes the dress come out looking dull. A little positive exposure compensation will help you get things done right on the wedding dress department.
